چکیده

The selection of probiotic bacteria based on their beneficial characteristics does not necessarily mean they can be later scaled up and used for technological applications formula design. Three strains—Lactobacillus acidophilus CRL2074, Limosilactobacillus fermentum CRL2085, Limosolactobacillus mucosae CRL2069, originally isolated from feedlot cattle feces—have demonstrated when as in-feed probiotics. Therefore, the current study was conducted to develop a low-cost culture medium optimize growth conditions enhance biomass production. also sought identify appropriate cryoprotective agents sustain high functional cell numbers after freeze drying. A central composite design applied determine optimal composition. This yielded simplified, effective containing 3% molasses industrial yeast extracts (0.5 2.5%) carbon nitrogen sources, which were added basal each strain. Established production at 37 °C, without agitation, pH-controlled CRL2085 CRL2069 strains, free pH CRL2074 strain, allowed us obtain yields 12.95, 18.20, 12.25 g, respectively, 24-h incubation, compared with MRS medium. In addition, effect selected strain-dependent. Thus, highest viability (109–1010 CFU/g), stability during 30-d storage, survival rate (88–99%) achieved 10% MSG (monosodium glutamate), sucrose + fructose trehalose WPC (whey protein concentrate) MSG, 1.2% trehalose, drying respectively. Moreover, strains retained functionality hydrophobic evaluated. These results highlight need perform strain-specific evaluation critical factors involved in large-scale lactobacilli storage processes.

Optimizing Production of Two Potential Probiotic Lactobacilli Strains Isolated from Piglet Feces as Feed Additives for Weaned Piglets

Two probiotic strains, Lactobacillus johnsonii x-1d-2 and Lactobacillus mucosae x-4w-1, originally isolated from piglet feces, have been demonstrated to possess antimicrobial activities, antibiotic resistances and interleukin-6 induction ability in RAW 267.4 macrophages in our previous study. These characteristics make L. johnsonii x-1d-2 and L. mucosae x-4w-1 good candidates for application in...

Synbiotic yogurt production by using prebiotic compounds and probiotic lactobacilli

ABSTRACT: Synbiotic products contain both probiotic bacteria and prebiotic compounds. The aim of this study was to produce a synbiotic yogurt with desirable quality. Lactobacillus rhamnosus and Lactobacillus reuteri along with 1.5% prebiotics including inulin, lactulose, and oligofructose were used to make synbiotic yogurt (2.5% fat). The samples were stored at 4oC for 28 days, and their physic...

Vitamins For Feedlot Cattle

✓ B-vitamin requirements of feedlot cattle are not known. Stress and/or illness can increase requirements, resulting in shortterm deficiencies. B-vitamin supplementation, particularly in the first 10 days after arrival in the feedlot, may improve performance and/or reduce morbidity. Depending on the Bvitamin, supplementation may alleviate nutrient deficiencies of rumen microbes, or of the anima...

Manipulating grain processing method and roughage level to improve feed efficiency in feedlot cattle.

The effects of feeding finishing diets containing whole corn with no roughage on performance and carcass characteristics of feedlot steers were evaluated in 6 trials conducted at commercial research facilities (Bos Technica Research Services Inc., Salina, KS) in the Southern Plains of the United States. One hundred and two feedlot pens containing 6,895 steers were represented. All trials were d...
